Dr. Malaspina received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of North Carolina, where he specialized in microeconomics, law and economics, and industrial organization. Throughout his career, he has conducted economic analyses and provided expert testimony in a variety of contexts. His expertise covers several issue areas including intellectual property, antitrust, consumer frauds, and securities.
As the former Chief Economist for the Office of the New York State Attorney General, Dr. Malaspina served as the NYAG’s lead economic policy advisor, provided testimony in federal and state courts on a variety of economic issues, and presented analyses to staff economists and attorneys at the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
Dr. Malaspina has experience conducting analyses in many industry settings, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, health insurance, telecommunications, internet technology, data storage, consumer electronics, payment cards, automobile manufacturing, transportation, social networks, securities, and energy.
