Dr. Malaspina specializes in industrial organization and econometrics. Dr. Malaspina is the former Chief Economist at the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where he served as the Attorney General’s lead economic policy advisor. While at the Attorney General’s office, Dr. Malaspina provided testimony in federal and state courts on a variety of economic issues. Dr. Malaspina has also presented analyses to staff economists and attorneys at the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
Dr. Malaspina’s expertise covers several issue areas including intellectual property, antitrust, consumer frauds, and securities. Dr. Malaspina has conducted analyses in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, health insurance, telecommunications, internet technology, consumer electronics, payment cards, automobile manufacturing, transportation, social networks, securities, and energy.
